Jes Mason, APRN, MSN, FNP-C

Jes began serving kids in the Kaufman area in 2019 after moving to Mabank with her husband with a goal to raise their family in a tight-knit community. After five years practicing in the area, she transitioned to Carevide in order to better serve patients and families.  

She says her calling to work in pediatrics became clear during her 11 years working in the emergency room at Children’s Health in Dallas. 

“Being a parent is tough, and being a kid can be even tougher,” Jes says. “I want to be the support and encouragement our families are longing for. I love teaching, and I believe that understanding the ‘what’ and ‘why’ is one of the most valuable gifts I can give to a family. Plus, kids are sweet and hilarious, and they challenge me to grow every day.”

As a mom of two little ones herself, Mason uses her personal experiences to connect with patients.

“My hope is that I am able to build trusting and long-standing relationships with the kids and families of our community,” she says. “I want to be a trusted source of information and allow a safe space for conversations about concerns. I hope those I see feel heard, understood and valued.”

James Hay, APRN, CPNP-PC

Bringing a wealth of experience to the team, James joined Carevide in early 2026. His journey in healthcare spans nearly four decades, having started as a registered nurse in 1988 before advancing his education to become a nurse practitioner in 2001. 

Over his 25-year career as a nurse practitioner, James has dedicated himself to the health and safety of children. His longevity in healthcare is driven by a genuine love for helping families navigate the childhood years safely. 

“I try to prioritize preventive care during visits,” James says. “I place the highest emphasis on bringing real caring and compassion into my daily medical practice.”

Outside of his decades of clinical service, Hay and his wife are the proud parents of three adult children. When he isn’t keeping local kids healthy, Hay might be found exploring the water, as he loves spending his spare time diving and snorkeling.
